Laura Newcomb

Academic Entrepreneur

Laura Lea (DeMott) Newcomb grew up in Nebraska and Wyoming and earned her degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming in 1988. After teaching in Texas and Colorado, she moved to Arizona in 2002, where she worked as a teacher and administrator before becoming an entrepreneur. She married Donald Newcomb in 1990, and together they built a legacy centered on education and service.

Laura holds a Master’s in Administration and a Special Education certification. Recognizing a need for autism-focused education, she founded Exceptional Academic Services and co-founded the Autism Academy for Education and Development in 2012. What began with one campus has grown into multiple locations serving hundreds of students. She later expanded into charter education and adult services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

A dedicated leader, Laura works alongside her three children to continue the family’s mission of putting students first and advancing innovative education practices. In addition to education, she has built successful ventures in real estate, notary services, and wellness.

Laura remains deeply committed to her faith, family, and community, focusing on empowering others, supporting autism awareness, and creating opportunities for growth and independence.
